Mothers Day Duck!

I hope you all had an amazing Mothers Day with your loved ones over the weekend.

My mum is an animal lover but has always had a great love for ducks. I painted her this little wooden duck as a gift for her.

She loved it so much that I'm going to start doing a few more for the website and some custom designed ones. The image below is of a small one but they can come in a variety of different sizes and positions.

Pastel Painted Wooden Duck

This was a plain wood to start with. She has now been painted in a cream colour with pastel pink feet and beak. I then added a little bit of pink lace to create a scarf and drew her eyes back on.

How cute is she?

Let me know what you think.

Thank you for reading.

I've definitely found my new hobby. Decopatching : )

You can decopatch pretty much anything and I love love love the finished look.

Any of you thinking what on earth is she talking about and what is decopatch?

Well ...

Decopatch is a paper craft using a specific type of paper and glues. I guess you could say it is similar to paper mache but a lot more modern and prettier to look at.
You use patterned or plain papers to create a collage effect over any type of object.
I've taken to giving bottles and jars a new look but you can buy plain mache shapes and objects to decorate.

Here's a mache heart that I started doing the other night.

I will be listing some of my finished work on the website soon so keep an eye out.
